New Geocovid MapBiomas shows more date and tools for monitoring covid-19 pandemic in Brazil
On March 25th will be launched at 10am the new GEOCOVID Portal. This portal combines geotechnology resources with artificial intelligence to monitor and predict the evolution of Covid-19 in Brazilian territory.
The new portal will be launched with new features, including the change in visual and operational standard of the portal and a panel of data and statistics with infographics, in addition to new indicators such as evolution of vaccination in the country.
The launch will be mediated by Julia Shimbo (Scientific Coordinator of MapBiomas) and will be attended by the Rector of UEFS (State University of Feira de Santana), Prof. Dr. Evandro Silva, at the opening. We will also count on the lectures of Prof. Dr. Washington Franca-Rocha (UEFS), Coordinator of Post-Graduate Program in Modeling in Earth and Environmental Sciences (PPGM); Dr. Elaine Cristina Cambui Barbosa (UFBA- Bahia Federal University) and Álvaro Fernandes de Abreu Justen (Coordinator of the Brazil IO Portal).
Participating as debaters: Dr. Henrique dos Santos Pereira (researcher at the Federal University of Amazonas) and Prof. Dr. Marcio Luis Valença Araújo (IFBA- Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Bahia), Advisor of Bahia Department of Health.
The Geocovid Portal is a national and multidisciplinary network to support the fight against Covid-19, which unites academic organizations (UEFS, UFBA, UESC, UNEB and IFBA), emerging technology-based companies (GEODATIN and SOLVED) and MapBiomas.
